LEVIA - tobacco-free stick - FAQs

LEVIA™ sticks are flavor sticks with mentholated and fruity flavors. They are tobacco-free but contain nicotine. Innovation is at the heart of the stick: parts of the central element are made of mainly plant-based* ingredients processed with extreme care, to which flavorings and nicotine extracted from tobacco leaves are added. The intensity of mentholated and fruity flavors provides a full taste and fresh smell. LEVIA™ sticks are for use exclusively with IQOS ILUMA.

Do not ingest or disassemble the sticks. This product contains a sharp metal part which can cause serious injury if swallowed. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

TEREA SMARTCORE STICKS™ contain real tobacco, while LEVIA sticks do not. Both contain nicotine, an addictive substance. Other than that, LEVIA sticks are mainly plant-based ingredients in some parts of the core element, processed with extreme care, with the addition of flavorings and nicotine extracted from tobacco leaves. That doesn't mean this product is safer than the other sticks used with IQOS ILUMA.

In any case, both LEVIA tobacco-free sticks and TEREA tobacco sticks are designed only for IQOS ILUMA devices with bladeless SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM™ technology: IQOS ILUMA PRIME, IQOS ILUMA, and IQOS ILUMA ONE.

LEVIA is a tobacco-free but nicotine product that is currently available in 3 flavor options:

• LEVIA Glacial Beat:Strong Mentholated Fresh Taste. This is an intense and fresh blend with mentholated and creamy notes. The flavor note is strong mint.
• LEVIA Island Beat:Fresh Mentholated Taste. This is a fresh mix with mentholated and creamy notes. The flavor note is mint.
• LEVIA Electro Purple:Mentholated berry flavor. A fresh and intense blend with blueberry and floral notes. The flavor note is berries.

LEVIA's structure consists of the following parts:

Front seal:

• Mainly made of cellulose acetate fibers.
• Keeps the IQOS ILUMA holder clean after use with no tobacco residue left and ensures easy insertion and extraction of the tobacco stick.

Core Element:

• LEVIA sticks are mainly plant-based ingredients in some parts of the core element, processed with extreme care, with the addition of flavorings and nicotine extracted from tobacco leaves.
  
  That doesn't mean this product is safer than other sticks used with IQOS ILUMA.

Heating element:

• An innovative stainless steel-coated metal heating element inserted into the stick for even heating.

Ventilation chamber:

• ensures that just the right amount of aerosol passes throughout the stick for a satisfying and easy draw.

Protective wrap:

• a protective paper wrap that helps keep the device clean after use.

Cooling element:

• cools down the aerosol temperature. It’s made of cellulose acetate, which delivers the best cooling efficiency yet.

Because of their unique composition, LEVIA sticks require extra protection. They tend to absorb moisture very quickly, so they are sealed and protected from outside humidity by a special aluminum wrap. Remember to keep the package closed at all times for an optimal experience.

Although both LEVIA sticks and TEREA SMARTCORE STICKS™ are designed exclusively for IQOS ILUMA line devices, they are two different products. TEREA SMARTCORE STICK™ contains tobacco, while LEVIA sticks don't. Instead of tobacco, LEVIA sticks contain mainly plant-based ingredients in some parts of the core element, processed with extreme care, adding flavorings and nicotine extracted from tobacco leaves. The difference in product design is one of many reasons behind the difference in taste. Each product variant has a unique taste, featuring different flavor notes. Each product line has its portfolio of flavors. That is why each product has its taste. In addition, preference toward one taste or the other is subjective and depends on several factors.

Yes, you can. Removing the LEVIA stick during use will automatically stop the heating process. Please note that the surface of the stick can reach high temperatures when it is removed during use.

How do I recognize a used LEVIA stick?

If you have not yet updated your IQOS firmware to the latest version, you may not get an optimal experience with LEVIA. The new firmware version allows the device to recognize whether the stick is a LEVIA or TEREA SMARTCORE STICK™ and calibrate the experience accordingly. The IQOS ILUMA device will continue to operate and heat LEVIA sticks even without the latest firmware version installed. However, you may not get an optimal experience with LEVIA.

Additional information: The new firmware is installed from the factory on all IQOS ILUMA devices manufactured after February 27, 2023.

Because SMARTCORE STICKS™ contain tobacco, unlike LEVIA sticks, the device will have to work slightly differently.

The IQOS ILUMA device will continue to work and heat LEVIA sticks even without the latest firmware version installed. However, to get an optimal experience with LEVIA, we recommend upgrading your IQOS ILUMA device to the most recent firmware version.

We have a tip on whether you need a firmware (FW) update or not:

• Click the Holder button 5 times:
• For IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA PRIME: if the lower status LEDs or both flash white 5 times, you do not need to update the firmware.
• For IQOS ILUMA ONE: if all four status LEDs flash 5 times white, you do not need to update the firmware.
• If no light on the status LED lights up after the 5 clicks, upgrading is necessary.

You can upgrade the firmware in every IQOS store or service tobacconist or download the IQOS Apps independently: the Android app, the Web app, or the Desktop app.

1. IQOS app for Android:Insert the Holder into the Pocket Charger 2. Access the IQOS app and connect the USB cable provided. NB: Do not pair with Bluetooth®, as you will not be able to update the firmware of the Holder, only the Pocket Charger. 3. Go to the "Devices" tab 4. Select the device you intend to control in the overview view and pair the device by connecting it to the app 5. If you agree to receive automatic notifications, a banner will appear telling you if new firmware is available. Otherwise, you will have to click on ''Check for updates on your device'' and proceed as indicated. 6. Once the update is successfully complete, you will receive a notification.

Knowing which firmware version your device has is irrelevant: once you connect your device to the app, you can check if you need to perform the new update to enable Levia tobacco sticks recognition. Please note that you can also check it yourself by clicking five times on the power button of the holder.
