To make your experience easier, IQOS ILUMA is packed full of new advanced features.

Autostart.
Once your TEREA, DELIA and LEVIA stick is correctly inserted, your holder will vibrate to let you know that the SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM™ has started preheating automatically. You don’t need to set up the IQOS app for autostart to work but you can use the IQOS app to deactivate the autostart. When it’s ready to use, the device will vibrate a second time. You can also start heating manually by pressing the side button.

Checking your holder.

This smart gesture allows you to check how much battery is remaining in your holder. Simply tilt the holder towards you when you’re not using it, and the lights on the holder will indicate the battery level.

Checking how much experience is left.

Double-tap your holder and the vibrations will indicate how much of your experience is left. For instance:

  • 3 vibrations = 75-50%
  • 2 = 50-25%
  • 1 = <25%

You can enable and adjust the vibration modes to suit you, using the IQOS app.

Holder Charging Dock

The Holder Charging Dock charges the IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA PRIME Holders. Allows for an easy access to the Holder in a stationary place. It’s easy and quick to use thanks to its magnetic connector. And it charges the Holder as fast as the Pocket Charger.

The IQOS ILUMA PRIME is our premium device and perfect for the most discerning users, with its innovative design and considered use of stunning materials. For example, the IQOS ILUMA PRIME holder and pocket charger come in an aluminum body with a leather or fabric wrap on the pocket charger.

If your IQOS ILUMA doesn't start on its own then please(except for the IQOS ILUMA ONE model, which features holder and charger all in one):

  • Check that you’re only using TEREA, DELIA and LEVIA sticks
  • Make sure they’re being placed in the right direction in the holder
  • Open the IQOS app and check if the autostart function has been accidentally deactivated
  • Place the holder in the pocket charger and perform a RESET. To do this, press and hold down the pocket charger button for 10 seconds until the lights fade out. The RESET is confirmed when you release the button and all of the lights blink 2 times

If the holder starts on its own without a TEREA stick inserted then please follow these steps:

  • Place the holder in the pocket charger and perform a RESET. To do this, press and hold down the pocket charger button for 10 seconds until the lights fade out. The RESET is confirmed when you release the button and all of the lights blink 2 times
  • If RESET doesn’t fix the problem, download the IQOS app and remove the autostart setting from the holder

Remember, you can start your tobacco experience manually by inserting your TEREA stick into the holder and pressing the button for two seconds to activate your experience. If it still doesn’t work, visit your nearest IQOS store and one of our agents will fix the problem for you or call our Call Center.

The one-year warranty covers manufacturing defects for IQOS ILUMA electronic devices. And electronic accessories for Power Adaptor, Charging Cable and IQOS Charging Docks.

What’s excluded from the warranty?

The following are excluded from the terms of your IQOS ILUMA warranty:

  • Uninterrupted and error-free functionality of the product.
  • Malfunction and/or damage caused by normal wear and tear or otherwise due to aging of this product.
  • Cosmetic damages (such as scratches, dents, broken plastic, etc.) that don’t impact the functionality of the product.
  • Damage caused by misuse, power surge, improper handling, liquid contact or fire.
  • Malfunction due to use with non-compatible products, manufactured either by Philip Morris International or third-party manufacturers.
  • Damage or malfunction caused by attempting to open, modify (including modifications to the firmware) and repair, either by a user or by a service provider not accredited by the manufacturer.
  • Damage or malfunction caused by failure to use as described in the associated IQOS™ User Guide or in contravention of the firmware license agreement.
  • Product battery performance degradation. Batteries are consumable parts and their performance degradation and use over time is not a manufacturing or a workmanship defect and is excluded from this warranty*.
  • Product containing fully or partially non-genuine parts.
  • Product for which serial numbers have been removed or altered.
  • Any malfunctions caused by the firmware of the product, including where your product is not using the latest version of the firmware unless these malfunctions have occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship. Note that in accordance with the terms of the firmware license agreement (which is available on the website above for your relevant market), the firmware is provided “as-is,” without any warranty.
  • Faults due to improper operation of “autostart” and/or “double-tap” features* that do not impact the functionality of the product.

Charging IQOS ILUMA devices is quick and easy, but remember that it is best to use the adapter and charging cable designed for IQOS ILUMA and approved by the manufacturer.Tap the IQOS ILUMA PRIME and/or IQOS ILUMA pocket charger button to check the battery level. If the bottom of the light strip flashes in yellow 3 times, it means that the battery is low. Charge the Pocket Charger with the original IQOS power adapter. When the status bar is fully lit, the device is fully charged and can be used for up to 20 experiences.

For IQOS ILUMA ONE simply tap the button on IQOS ILUMA ONE to check the battery level. If the bottom of the light strip flashes in yellow, it means that the battery is poorly charged.

Charge IQOS ILUMA ONE with the power adapter supplied with the device. For a full charge, connect the device for at least 75 minutes. When the charge is complete, all lights remain white fixed and then turn off.
To fully charge the IQOS ILUMA PRIME and IQOS ILUMA pocket charger takes about 135 minutes, while a full charge of the holder takes 10 minutes the first time after removing it from the box or after a long period of inactivity. To fully charge IQOS ILUMA ONE it takes about 90 minutes. Charging IQOS ILUMA devices is quick and easy, but remember that it is best to use the adapter and charging cable designed for IQOS ILUMA and approved by the manufacturer. A full charge using the corresponding IQOS USB power supply and charging cable takes different times depending on the model.
Checking the battery status of the IQOS ILUMA PRIME and IQOS ILUMA pocket charger and the device all in one IQOS ILUMA ONE is very simple: press for 4 seconds the button and observe how many lights indicate the battery level:
  • 4 white lights appear they mean that the battery is fully charged;
  • 3 white lights appear they mean that the battery is 75% charged;
  • 2 white lights appear they mean that the battery is charged at 50%;
  • If 1 white light appear it indicates that the battery is charged at 25%.
Procedures to best charge IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA PRIME:
  1. Make sure you only use official IQOS adapters and cables. Unofficial accessories may stop charging.
  2. Do not charge using a laptop: charging may also be interrupted.
  3. Always place the holder correctly inside the pocket charger.
  4. Check for any residue or dust on the holder that might interfere with the contacts of the holder and the pocket charger. If there is residue or dust, remove it from the holder before inserting it into the pocket magazine.
  5. Check that the pocket charger is fully charged before disconnecting the device.
Procedures to best charge IQOS ILUMA ONE:
  1. Check the charge level of your IQOS ILUMA ONE: After pressing the button, the status lights will show you the charge level.
  2. Use only the IQOS ILUMA ONE power supply and USB charging cable. The status lights will pulse while charging the pocket charger.
  3. Do not charge using a laptop. In this case charging may stop.
  4. Check the input of the device charging cable. If it is clogged, remove the residue by gently blowing from a distance.
  5. Connect the device to a wall outlet using an official IQOS adapter and cable: during charging, the lights will clear.
If the red light on the pocket charger of your IQOS ILUMA or IQOS ILUMA PRIME starts flashing, here are some important tips:
  1. A flashing red light on the pocket charger indicates that the holder’s charge is almost exhausted, we recommend that you insert the holder into the Pocket Charger and charge your device.
  2. If the pocket charger light continues to flash red, RESET by pressing the pocket charger button for 10 seconds. Hold it down until all the lights go out and then turn it back on. The reset will be confirmed when all lights flash briefly in white.
If the red light on the IQOS ILUMA PRIME or IQOS ILUMA holder starts flashing red, you must reset the device. Insert the holder into the charger and reset by pressing the pocket charger button for 10 seconds. Press and hold the button until you see all the lights go out. Reset will be confirmed when all the lights blink briefly in white.
If the red light on your IQOS ILUMA ONE device starts flashing red, you must reset your device. Reset by pressing the device button for 10 seconds, then release it until all the lights go out. The reset will be confirmed when the lights blink twice and then turn on.
Here is a list of the main meanings of the lights on the IQOS ILUMA holder.
- Yellow light: in case you start flashing the yellow light on the holder, it means that the battery is low and the holder must be recharged.
- White lights: white lights can flash in two different situations and with different rhythms. When the white lights flash three times on the holder, it means that the temperature of IQOS ILUMA is not in the range within which you can use it properly. The operating temperature that you should keep is between 0 and 40 ºC. If white lights flash eight times, they indicate that the holder can only provide 1 experience.
-Red light: if the red light starts flashing on the holder, you must place the holder in the pocket charger and reset.
Here is a list of the main meanings:
flashing red light indicates that the holder’s charge is almost exhausted. If the pocket charger light flashes once in red, it may indicate that you need to reset the device.
White light - Depending on whether it is flashing or fixed, it may have several meanings:
White flashing light: May indicate that the device (both the pocket charger and the holder) has been exposed to temperatures outside the operating range. It may take a few minutes for the device to return to a proper temperature between 0 ºC and 40 ºC.
More white flashing lights:
They indicate that the holder is in charge. If you quickly press the pocket charger button, the lights will stop flashing and turn on showing the charging level: two fixed lights indicate that the holder has enough charge for two consecutive experiences. A fixed light indicates that the holder has enough charge for an experience.
Fixed white lights (appearing after a short press of the pocket charger button): indicate the charging level of the pocket charger .
Flashing orange light: You must charge the device. 15 minutes of charging should be enough for the light to stop flashing. Make sure you charge the device with the included charging cable and power adapter.
It is important to distinguish the meaning of the white lights on the holder and on the pocket charger for IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA PRIME.
White lights flashing on IQOS ILUMA holder:
They can indicate two different situations. The holder is preheating the tobacco stick or your experience is about to end. If the device has been exposed to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold), it may take a few minutes before it returns to the correct operating temperature that is between 0 ºC and 40 ºC.
The fixed white lights on the IQOS ILUMA holder (which appear after a short press of the holder button) indicate the battery level of the holder. Two lights on indicate that the holder has enough charge for two heated tobacco sticks. A light indicates that you have an experience.
Here is the meaning of the white lights on the IQOS ILUMA pocket charger.
White flashing light
It may indicate that the device has been exposed to temperatures outside the operating range. It may take a few minutes for the device to return to a proper temperature between 0 ºC and 40 ºC.
Fixed white lights (appearing after a short press of the pocket charger button), indicate the charging level of the pocket charger
The charge levels are indicated as follows:
- 4 white lights: the pocket charger has a charge of more than 75%.
- 3 white lights: The charge is between 50% and 75%.
- 2 white lights: The charge is between 25% and 50%.
- 1 white light: Charge is less than 25%.
The device may be turned off or is not charging properly.
We advise you to:
- Insert the IQOS ILUMA holder into the pocket charger.
- Press and hold the pocket charger button for 10 seconds to reset the device and turn it back on.
- Connect the pocket charger to a power outlet using an official adapter and charging cable.
- As you load the pocket charger, the lights on the charging bar will work. If the device is fully discharged, it may take up to 20 minutes before it starts charging. If the problem persists, you can launch the device diagnostic tool online.
