With IQOS ILUMA, the tobacco is heated from the inside instead of being burnt, thus offering the true tobacco taste.
However, unlike the IQOS models with blade, the IQOS ILUMA SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM™ heats the tobacco by induction thanks to a heating element inside the SMARTCORE STICKS™. IQOS ILUMA therefore does not have a blade inside the device and is more reliable compared with previous IQOS models*.

The SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM™ and SMARTCORE STICKS™ have been developed to offer a whole new way to enjoy tobacco. Compared to previous IQOS models, the blade moves from the device to the tobacco stick in order to continuously heat the tobacco from the inside stick after stick.

1. The front seal:
keeps the holder clean after use without leaving any tobacco residue and ensures that the stick is inserted and removed easily.
2. Tobacco:
a carefully selected, finely ground, and specially prepared blend.
3. Heating element:
an innovative stainless steel-coated metal heating element is placed inside the sticks to provide uninterrupted tobacco heating.
4. The ventilation chamber:
regulates the needed amount of tobacco vapor in the stick to allow a satisfactory experience.
5. Protective sleeve:
a paper wrapper that helps keep the device clean after use.
6. Cooling element:
made of cellulose acetate, it cools the temperature of tobacco vapor so that it reaches a suitable temperature for inhalation.
