IQOS ILUMA troubleshooting - FAQs

The great news is that cleaning the leather wrap is easy. Just grab a damp cloth and wipe it gently. Unfortunately, wraps are not covered by the warranty.

Switching on and charging your device.

Charge your IQOS ILUMA fully by using the AC Power Adaptor and Charging Cable that comes with it. Then, to switch your device on, press the button on the side of the Pocket Charger for 4 seconds. To check the battery status of the Pocket charger, take out the holder and press the side button of the Pocket Charger.

Switching on and charging the ILUMA PRIME and ILUMA device.

POWER ON: Press and hold the Pocket Loader Button for 4 seconds, then release it; The Pocket Loader Status Lights and Holder Status Lights will slowly turn on.

RECHARGE THE HOLDER: Insert the Holder into the Pocket Loader to recharge and close the cover/Cover (if the customer has an IQOS ILUMA PRIMETM). The Status Light on the Holder will show the battery level.

RECHARGE THE POCKET CHARGER: Before first use, fully charge the device with the Power Supply and charging cable (about 135 min.).


Switching on and charging the ILUMA ONE device:

POWER ON: Press and hold the button for 4 seconds, then release: the status lights will slowly turn on.

RECHARGE: Before first use, fully charge IQOS ILUMA ONE with the power adapter and charging cable. (about 90 minutes)

There are couple of ways you can check how many uses you have left. Either on the holder itself or by checking the pocket charger with the holder inside. Here’s how:

Checking on the holder:Tilt the holder towards you or short press the button. The lights will come on and indicate the battery level. When 2 lights are on it means the holder is ready for 2 uses and 1 light on means it’s ready for 1 use only.

Checking on the pocket charger:Short press the side button on the pocket charger with the holder inside the charger. The pocket charger light will turn on. 2 lights mean the holder is ready for 2 uses and 1 light on means ready for 1 use. You’re all set to enjoy your tobacco experience.

For IQOS ILUMA ONE:Short press the side button on the device, the light will turn on. When the lights are on it means the device is ready. Twinkle yellow light means that the battery needs to be charged.

To reset your device, place the Holder in the Pocket Charger, press and hold the Pocket Charger button for 10 seconds (until the lights go out). When the button is released all the lights will flash and the device will vibrate to confirm RESET. That’s it, you’re done.

For IQOS ILUMA ONE To reset the device, Press and hold the device button for 10 seconds (until the lights go out). When the button is released all the lights will flash and the device will vibrate to confirm RESET.

It’s quick and easy to charge your device but remember, it’s safer to use the power adapter and charging cable designed for IQOS ILUMA. It takes around 135 minutes to fully charge the pocket charger and up to 10 minutes to fully charge the holder for the first time after unpacking. The holder recharge times are:

  • 1’ 50” for 1 use*
  • 3’25” for 1-2 uses*
  • 5’ 15” 0-2 uses*
  • and 10’ 05” for its first charge out of the box*

For ILUMA ONE:
BLINKING YELLOW SPIES: Recharge the battery.
BLINKING WHITE LIGHTS TWICE: IQOS ILUMA ONE is outside the operating temperature range (0°C~40°C).
BLINKING RED SPIES: Reset your IQOS ILUMA ONE.

An IQOS ILUMA device can only be activated by a TEREA, DELIA and/or LEVIA SMARTCORE STICK™, so it will not start if a different stick is inserted.
With the new SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM™ technology, the Holder is foil-free and a metal heating element is placed inside the TEREA, DELIA and/or LEVIA SMARTCORE STICK™. As such, the IQOS ILUMA has no foil to heat a HEETS stick.
The IQOS ILUMA is designed to be used only with TEREA, DELIA and/or LEVIA SMARTCORE STICKS™. Do not use the IQOS ILUMA and TEREA, DELIA and/or LEVIA SMARTCORE STICKS™ with previous IQOS generations, as this may cause damage to the device.

There are two scenarios for which the automatic start-up may not work:

1 - It does not start itsel: IQOS ILUMA Holders (except for the IQOS ILUMA ONE model which has a built-in charger) have automatic start-up from factory setting, so check the following:

  • Check that you are using TEREA, DELIA and LEVIA SMARTCORE STICK™
  • Ensure that the stick is inserted into the holder in the correct direction
  • Place the Holder in the Pocket Loader and perform a reset by pressing the button for 10 seconds (until the lights go out). RESET is confirmed when the button is released and all lights flash twice
2 - Holder starts by itself without TEREA, DELIA and LEVIA SMARTCORE STICK™ inserted: ndicates that you will have to reset your Holder. Please carry out the following procedure:
  • Place the Holder in the Pocket Charger and perform a reset by pressing the button for 10 seconds (until the lights go out). The RESET is confirmed when you release the button and all lights flash twice.
Note: You can also start operation manually. Insert your TEREA, DELIA and LEVIA SMARTCORE STICKS™ into the holder and press the button for one second to activate use. If the problem persists, please visit your nearest IQOS store and one of our agents will be able to assist you
